There are only two stitches in knitting, but to make all those cool garments with fun and interesting designs, it is necessary to manipulate those two stitches. In this class, with guidance from the book, Building Blocks by Michelle Hunter, students will be introduced to many of the techniques used in knitting that go well beyond the basic knit and purl stitches. Each month, students will work on their "Block of the Month," while adding a new stitch or technique to their arsinal of skills. Finally, they will stitch their twelve blocks together to complete a lovely sampler afghan!
